Lily Neill is a rising star in the world of harp playing. By successfully melding her own compositions with traditional music from Scottish, Irish and other folk repertoires, she has created a style and sound that is unique and melodious with a wide base of musical influences.
Lily has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe and released “Without Words”, her debut solo CD, at the end of 2004 to great acclaim. In addition to her solo performances, Lily often collaborates with tap dancer Cartier Williams in a duo that has been called “a tour-de-force” by The Washington Times. The two began performing together as children, finding a middle ground between their art forms in improvisation and melodic and percussive trade-offs. Lily also frequently appears with koto player Claudia Erland, who can be heard on “Without Words”. To conclude her Artistic Residency at Strathmore Hall in February 2007, Lily was commissioned to compose a new work in which Claudia's playing was also featured. Information about Lily's other collaborations, recordings and projects can be found on this site. Please explore the pages of this website to learn more about Lily and her music.
